We made it through security checkpoint just fine. I made a rookie mistake, however. In all of my nervousness and excitement, I forgot to take my toiletries Ziploc out of my carry-on. This was enough to arouse the suspicion of the security guy, because he proceeded to do a full search of my bag. He didn't find anything except clean underwear. I'd hate to be the guy that has to search my bag on the return trip!
We made it through the security line in only about ten minutes, leaving us almost an hour before we board the plane. Time to explore the terminal and watch the other people at the gate and try not to let my mind go into "racial profiling mode".
